Gabe’s Run 2014: The 7th Annual Reunion Run to benefit the Gabriel Pacione Memorial Scholarships.

Events feature competitive 5K Cross-Country Trail Races, a 1 Mile Family Fun Run as well as the Team XC Challenge and the Community Cup, a friendly competition among runners from all communities represented. The race is the day after Thanksgiving, Friday November 28, 2014.

Middle Street Gloucester comes alive with music and fun for the Harvest Festival

There's a lot going during the Harvest Festival on Middle Street in Gloucester!  Come to the Middle Street Harvest Festival for live music, museum tours, the Thanksgiving Cape Ann Farmers Market, a craft fair and chowder luncheon, story time and crafts for the kids, tours of the Gloucester Fire Station and more! A benefit concert will take place to raise funds for the Grace Center at Trinity Congregational Church of Gloucester.  The Middle Street Harvest Festival is sponsored by Bank Gloucester and other local businesses.

Make your own gingerbread creation at Ipswich Museum!

Kids and their families are invited to the Ipswich Museum for a gingerbread workshop! The holidays wouldn’t be complete without a gingerbread house! Our hands-on, no-baking family class will supply each adult and child with all the materials needed to build your own candy decorated gingerbread house.  All ages!  We suggest adult assistance for children under 8.  Cost: $45 per family (this includes everything you need to go home with a completely decorated house).

Every year families across New England reserve time with beloved silhouette artist Carol Lebeaux who chronicles their children's growth by cutting out profile portraits while they pose. Wenham Museum is hosting a rare opportunity to have a hand-cut heirloom portrait created by silhouette artist Carol Lebeaux from a sitting or photograph.

After a successful first year, the Ipswich Farmer's Market is having a Thanksgiving market just in time to stock up the pantry for Turkey Day! The Market willbe held indoors at the Ascension Church rain or shine!

23rd Annual Essex Firemen's Spaghetti Supper - The town’s volunteer firefighters put out quite a spread of all-you-can-eat homemade spaghetti and meatballs accompanied by salad, beverage and dessert. A great night to enjoy a home-cooked meal with neighbors and friends. Everyone welcome! Donations accepted at the door. All proceeds go to the Fire Department Equipment fund.



Holiday Fairs at Essex Churches - The warmth of an old country church fair enlivens the town on a cold, winter’s day when all three of Essex’s downtown churches hold their annual Holiday Fair. All three churches are within walking distance with free on street parking. Gift bargains are served up along with homemade food and hot beverages. A dollar goes a long way at this event.

Friends of Dane Street Playground Present the Polar Express at the Cabot Theater

The Friends of Dane Street Playground, a group of neighbors committed to designing and install a new, safe playground at Dane Street Beach, will host a fundraiser at the new Cabot Performing Arts Center (formerly the Cabot Theatre). The event is a family friendly holiday themed movie showing of “The Polar Express.” Tickets include a movie ticket, bell, a visit from Santa, and more! The group will also hold a raffle for several items and themed prize baskets. Tickets will be $15 a seat and are available via paypal payment or cash at the door.


NPL celebrates Native American Heritage Month with a screening of "Miss Navaho"

NPL celebrates Native American Heritage Month! Join us for a screening and discussion of the documentary "Miss Navajo." The role of women and tradition in Dine (Navajo) culture is explored through a young girl's quest for the Miss Navajo Nation crown. All are welcome to this free event!


NMYO is performing a benefit concert to help the ipswich Food Pantry!

Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras will perform a Thanksgiving concert to benefit the Ipswich Community Food Pantry. Come enjoy great music presented by some of the most talented youngsters on the North Shore and help the food pantry when it is needed the most - the week of Thanksgiving!


Ipswich Museum by Candlelight

Kids and their families are invited to the Ipswich Museum for Museum by Candlelight! The Museum's 1677 John Whipple House and 1657 replica Alexander Knight House will be open after dark and lit with candles as part of the town's two-week celebration of "Ipswich is First . . . Period."  Free (donations always welcome).
